So how do we choose the right brand ambassadors to represent our clients’ products? Without giving away too many of our secrets, we can tell you that it’s part art and part science, and you can rest assured that each of our team members has way more than an attractive face!
Here are the top five non-negotiable criteria we look for when hiring in new markets or for the latest marketing programs. Our brand specialists must be:
- Sales oriented
While our company is physically based in San Diego, California, we have a few great ways we recruit new brand ambassadors with these criteria across the country. We understand that good talent understands, knows and spends time with other good talent; “you are the company you keep.” Thus, we rely heavily on our in-market program leads and current brand representatives to introduce us to referrals they trust. Our internal referral bonus program rewards our team for quality referrals as a “thank you” for looking out for our company and our clients. We also use resources like Facebook and university career sites to build our team nationally.
When we identify people who seem like a good fit, or we receive promising referrals, we do more than just conduct interviews to learn about them. We put them to the test to see how they would handle common situations our brand ambassadors might face.
To ensure cohesion throughout our team, our CEO visits each region on a regular basis to hold meetings that have training and educational components.
